Holland Opera's Cookies has been nominated for the 2025 YAM (Young Audience Music) Award for best international youth opera.

Cookies is based on a text from Annet Schaap's collection "De Meisjes" (The Girls). Joke Hoolboom adapted the story into a libretto and directed it. Niek Idelenburg composed the music. Douwe Hibma designed the set, featuring paintings by Mans Weghorst. Pim Veulings created the choreography.

The winner will be announced on September 17th during the YAM Awards Ceremony in Viljandi, Estonia.

After the great success of Reinaert de V. Holland Opera and Duda Paiva Company are working together again!

A discarded donkey playing the accordion, a hoarse hen with a violin, an old dog playing the saxophone and a cat playing the drums. Four animals together form a colorful company. In the eyes of people, the animals are too old or no longer suitable to do their work. Full of energy, they embark on a musical adventure.
