PARTY

The Elliot family is organizing a surprise party for Anna, who is returning home after a long international tour. However, Anna has a surprise of her own in store for them; she is about to marry Ben, her personal trainer.

The party derails into a family drama with a dramatic ending: a reflection on legacy, possessions, and the question of what we leave behind for future generations.

A family epic inspired by the Danish film Melancholia, in which the industrial monument Veerensmederij will be transformed into an extravagant party venue.

Bremer Buskers (8+)

★★★★ Volkskrant: 'Two years ago, Holland Opera and Duda Paiva performed the fantastic children's opera Reinaert de V. This year, the same team is back with the Bremer Straatmuzikanten (Bremer Street Musicians). This modern opera adaptation is also infectious and accessible. It's one to watch with your mouth open'

A discarded donkey playing the accordion, a hoarse hen with a violin, an old dog playing the saxophone and a cat playing the drums. Four animals together form a colorful company. In the eyes of people, the animals are too old or no longer suitable to do their work. Full of energy, they embark on a musical adventure.

december 2025 in Amersfoort followed by a national tour in spring 2026

Pinokkio

Holland Opera in co-production with New European Ensemble & Cat Smits Company.

Pinocchio, like any child, starts as a blank slate – in her case, as a blank block of wood. But she has barely grown legs when she abandons her father Geppetto and runs into seven ditches at once. Mrs. Kats, Mr. Fox and Mr. van Wezel become her friends and have beautiful, catchy stories. But can she trust these friends? She always has to choose: have fun and live a lazy life or be sensible and work hard? Tell a nice story or tell the ugly truth?

Coming up next season.
